This nifty little carbon calculator takes approximately five minutes to complete.

It is well worth taking time to do this properly since it doesnt just give you a score, it actually offers options to reduce your carbon footprint and invites you to make one or more pledges. An email is then sent to you with a link ‘View My Climate Promises’ which you can refer back to any time. I thought I would do well but found my carbon footprint was 4.9 tons – not bad but not great. Give it a go!

The ‘warming stripe’ graphic is a visual representation of the change in temperature as measured in Brighton from 1850 to 2023. Each stripe or bar represents the temperature in Brighton averaged over a year. Climate change will have multiple impacts on Brighton and surrounding area from sea level rise and surface water flooding to declining agricultural productivity and species extinction (See BH Climate Adaption Plan).
